Jeevana dalli omme nodu Joga Gundi !!!

Jeevana dalli omme nodu Joga Gundi !!!

Wow ! The song came years back when I was a small child. Since that day it has been a longing desire to see this amazing wonder of Karnataka. Finally it came as a team outing of our development team.

We left Bangalore on a Thursday night and started to Jog. Since July being a rainy season we were greeted by rain most of the journey. Then finally we reached Sagara a place about 25 km from Jog. We took a small room for freshening up and then started our way to Jog.

My curiousity grew as we approached the falls. The falls is just adjacent to the road. You can infact view the falls right from the road itself.

WOW!!! Simply amazing ............

Then I could not resist going down to the foot of the falls. The path is all not that great...but looked like a small trek. We went down for about an hour and reached the foot. There the rocks are very very slippery and I did fall once badly :( . But the bottom view was also equally good.....

Then we started our journey towards a place called Yellapura. On the way we were supposed to see a falls called 'Unchali Falls' or 'Lushington falls' ...but we reached that place towards the evening and we could not see the falls just hear it :(....so much mist was covered....Then we started our journey towards our major stop - 'Yellapur'....We reached there around 8 pm ...had dinner and took rest...

The next day morning we were to do ' Water Rafting ' . We had to travel a distance about 30 km on the Karwar highway...the drive on the highway was awesome...full of greenery and tall standing hills with the low hanging clouds kissing them.

Then we reached a place called ' RamanGuli'. All my team mates left for rafting except me - I had decided not to jump in to water. The resort ' Sai jungle lodge' was very nice. It is totally immersed admist nature...with coco trees and Gangavali river on the other side....

After Rafting activity we started towards another beautiful falls called "Magod" falls. The drive to Magod falls is awesome - fully green all the way....Initially the falls was fully covered with mist...we got to see the falls only for a few seconds....and again the mist would cover it....But the falls as such is amazing........

Then we moved on to a place called 'Tavadikere Lake' which is very close to Magod falls. It is a unexplored place....a beautiful lake admist the midst of totally enchanting greenery. There was absolutely nobody at the place except a small group of ours. It looked as though we were in some other world. The temple was also beautiful.

Then we started towards Gokarna - a 2 hr drive from yellapura. We reached Gokarna at night and hence did not get a chance to go around the city although we did visit the beach which is right behind the temple.

Next day morning we woke up early and went to Om Beach. It is about 10 km from our hotel and the main Gokarna town. The entire view was simply awesome. The beach, the hill and the calm early morning wind all made the place a really worth praising.

We then went to the Gokarnatheshwara temple ( Lord Shiva) and then visited Lord Ganesha temple - both are very old style temples. After that it was just our way back to the Concret Jungle !!!! :-(

Hani Hani Premkahaani...Mungaru Male Magic !

venue : my home terrace
time : 9:30 pm
setting : came home a bit early in the week, switched on TV - but nthing interesting other than 2 or 3 junk TV serials...got bored..and this is peak summer...so thought of pulling out my laptop and getting to the terrace of my home....

Well...as scheduled the much awaited article...coming ur way now..thought of finishing this off...

Well...no guess for the most happening thing in karnataka...it is neither politics...nor sports...nor any cultural event...but it is the tiny drops of Mungaru Male which have kissed kannada land in this hot summer and day by day the drops have only got large in number to create a wave in teh entire kannada industry........well at this day .... it is running somewhere around its 130th day...full house...amazing......

Well...the first poster I saw was so refreshing....so simple to earth ...just a typical sakleshpur area background with the hero Ganesh sitting like a small boy on one of the branch....well....i had last seen such a simple poster only for Nenapirali.....well this was even more simple than that.....i knew that this is going to be big...Somebody in my office,..told me abt.the amazing songs.....i just heard it on musicindiaonline.com and that's it ...i have never got back from that day till today...it has been my daily routine to hear that atleast more than a couple of times....i just grew crazy ...it was simply amazing...the music was just melodious....lyrics amazing....i just loved it....this kindled in me to go and watch the movie right away....

Me alongwith my 2 colleagues decided on the spur of the moment to go and watch film at 7:30 pm at Sagar theatre in Majestic...well...it wasnt all rosy to get in there.....the hall was housefull and even it was so tuff to get tickets in the black market as well.....but i badly wanted to get in ....and feel it....i negotiated from Rs 150 per ticket to Rs 100 and finally got in ........but i later on realised that i had not done any mistake...but had done one of the most worthy action of my life...somehow got into the theatre...and the film started.....showing all the names of actors, screenplay etc etc...and i was just waiting for the film to kick....

well....now i need to run in .....mosquitoes....mosquitoes... :-(

the film started with a funny event in front of a shoppng mall....in bangalore where Preetham loses it all to Nandini....wondering who these 2 names are....well these r the 2 characters that would go as hero and heroine in the movie henceforth....

64 but still strong !!!

Jai Gurudev !

It is 64 and still going strong....wondering what is this 64....Well it has been 64 hrs since i put my back on bed....trust me ....64 hrs ...i woke up on Wednesday morning ( 2nd May 2007) at 9 am and now at the clock shows ( 1 am - Saturday - 5th May 2007).....Well i might have closed my eyes in pain sitting infront of my 19 inch monitor at office...but that was just a passing nap not more than 10 min.....I am both happy and sad.....read on...

Somebody wrote in my orkut testimonial that i am a machine....well looks like that :-) ....Still wondering what made to work so continously...Well, when u want things to happen other than the normal...events such as these should happen. Submissed by the fact that everyone is going onsite!!! onsite !!! onsite !!!., i had to look for opportunities at a Product development company in a top MNC which is day by day moving more projects to India. You can't even utter this word "onsite" at this MNC. Under this circumstances I found a way to look for a short trip abroad atleast. Something better than the other. In this context i submitted a paper abstract at one of the technology events - " Technology & Expo. Forum 2007 ". I had put in lot of effort in coming up with a abstract. I knew that there would be lot of contenders worldwide to the limited slots and that i had to fight my way.

With the grace of the God and the master my abstract got selected. The event is stated to be held at Las Vegas, USA from June 18-21. May 04,2007 was set as the deadline for the complete material to be prepared and that there would be limited chances to edit the same. So, me and my co-speaker Pavan Kumar spent the past 2 nights sitting at office.....finding ideas at that time of the day where ideas seem to have been buried deep in a desert...... :-( ..... somehow we came with some material atleast to cookup at the event. This is our 2nd presentation -while the first one happened at Vienna, Austria in December 2006. It was a wonderful experience which i would write about in another article. The immense confidence i got while speaking in a huge auditorium with all the focus light on and in an unknown den against a strong European Audience made me to continue this passion forward. What started to be a alternative to get out on short trips .....started to become a habit .........that's what my 2nd level manager also says....

Our Management like any other junk software company believes "first our work then everything else"..same applies here too..during office hours...they want only regular work to be done...and nothing else...all these paper presentations etc are considered as secondary to them....so no way our regular work would be compromised......So, if we are on office work...till 9 pm in the night then when to find time...and this is how it came to 64 hours non-stop.

While all isn't rosy here.....For the first time it came as easy as it gets to get out to Vienna. There was no hurdles whatsoever in going there...our abstract got selected, presentation was done with ease as there was plenty of time, funding was approved...and we did make a good trip to Europe. But this time as soon as the local management came to know that our abstract got selected....rather than joy n happiness they were sort of a worried lot now.....worried lot for 2 reasons - one about the funding and the other would be peer pressure...Funding is a very tricky thing....it costs close to 3 lakh to fund an individual for a trip of 10 days. Now since we
both were to travel for the second time .... money became a strong barrier..and infact the only barrier....Any corporate world would encourage these activities but we must also remember that even money is a deal here...beczz 6 lakh is by no means a small figure..an engineer could be payed out for a complete financial year.

The other reason was peer pressure...management would be under immense pressure from our peers...who would now start questioning their value n contribution..etc etc as compared to we both...So the management is in a state of deep confusion at the moment and even to this point nothing has been decided.....I just hope all goes fine..and i get to materialise one of my dreams.......the dream to visit Golden Gate bridge at SFO. ...ever since a child i wanted to visit this..( inspired by kannada movie America America) .............while my another dream materialised in march 2006...when i was at Hunter's Point at the Gantry Plaza State Park, New York...( i was inspired by Kal-ho-Na-Ho)....infact i could not believe myself when i was standing on the wooden banks of the river...and watching the United nations bldg, Embassy state bldg and the New York Skyline......I was so overcome by emotions ...that i was in tears of joy...Well..i am damn sure..the same would happen to me at Golden Gate...but dont know when will i make it ......

I am happy about this...because i know i m doing something for the good....something to get my dream come true.....bad because...i knw i m spoiling my health........

Well...my left hand is saying...I am dying of RSI....i cant take it anymore...( repetitive stress injury)....my back is saying....i want to meet the ground......my eyes are

saying we want darkness...........so, have to stop here........looks like..there is nthing much to take away from this post..other than my personal experience out here...but i promise..my next post will be a lovely one....and the most happening around...Keep watching...!!!!
